Current Open Positions:

Temple Beth El, Riverside, CA – Part-time Cantor/Cantorial Soloist

Temple Beth El is a Reform congregation founded in 1944 and consists of more than 200 member families. We are proud of our values as a diverse congregation and strive to provide a house of prayer, learning and social responsibility. In addition, we have a full program of Religious School and adult educational activities.

We are looking for a new Cantor/Cantorial Soloist to become part of our Temple family. The ideal candidate should be collaborative, innovative, well-versed in traditional and contemporary Jewish music and liturgy, and have an understanding of Reform Judaism. Duties include working closely with our Rabbi to provide chanting and music for regular Friday evening Shabbat and all holiday services, as well as Saturday B’nai Mitzvah services and other religious services and life cycle events. We would like to explore alternative ways to engage our community in spiritual growth. We also have several volunteer musicians and a choir whom the candidate would direct and perform with during some services. We would also like the candidate to engage with our religious school students. Preference would be given to candidates who can accompany themselves on a musical instrument.

In addition, Temple Beth El is also looking for an Educator to run our Religious School, and is open to the possibility that the same individual might fill both positions.  For more information, see our corresponding Part-Time Educator ad.
