Bring Your Own Menorah 2015
The Bring Your Own Menorah service went well and was well-attended. Being the seventh night of Chanukah, there was quite an abundance of lit candles and it was beautiful.

Rocking music was supplied by the TBE band, consisting of Morris Maduro, Adam Perlstein, Eric Sbar, Jory Yarmoff, and Bob Sirotnik. We’d like to thank them and Rabbi Singer for a great Chanukah Shabbat Service!

Jeremy Perlstein Bar Mitzvah
Adam and Aimee Perlstein are very proud to announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Jeremy. He will be called to the Torah to lead the evening service on October 17th, 2014 and the morning service on Saturday, October 18th, 2014.
Jeremy is an 8th grade student at the Riverside STEM Academy and has attended for the pastfour years since it’s inception in Riverside.  He has been recongnized on the Principal’s Honor Roll every semester of his attendance there. He plays percussion in the STEM band and has been regularly selected to participate in Honor Band. At school, he enjoys physical education and science classes. This year he plans on joining the Science Jeremy-PerlsteinOlympiad team.
Currently, Jeremy is playing tackle football with the Orangecrest Wolves.  While football is his favorite sport, he has grown up playing other sports as well including basketball, soccer, and baseball. Jeremy has been fortunate to attend Jewish camp at JCA Shalom in Malibu for the past five summers, and he plans to continue attending – perhaps as a CIT and counselor.
As part of his Mitzvah project, during the spring of 2014 Jeremy taught several art classes to a group of socio-economically disadvantaged 5th and 6th grade students. Under the Hearts after-school program, he planned various art lessons, gathered the materials, and helped guide the children in their projects. Highlights of his Mitzvah project will be on display in the Temple foyer close to his Bar Mitzvah.
Adam, Aimee, and Jeremy’s younger brother Brian are thrilled to share this special simcha with our congregation, family and friends. Many of our guests are traveling from Oregon, Idaho, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina and throughout California.
